Peter Holland

Peter received his B.A. in Philosophy from Bard College, M.A. in Liberal Arts from St.  John’s College of Annapolis, and J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law, from which he received the Public Service Award.  He has been in private practice in Annapolis since 1993, starting in a general litigation firm, and then opening his own law firm in 1997.  His background includes cases in the District and Circuit courts of Maryland, and in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland.  During his formative years of training, he litigated cases in a wide range of topics, including civil rights, personal injury, family law, employment law and business law. 

Currently, his practice is devoted almost exclusively to Consumer Rights cases such as Auto Dealer Fraud, Wrongful Repossessions, Mortgage Fraud, Predatory Lending, Foreclosure Rescue Scams, Debt Collection Harassment and Consumer Class Actions. 

Peter teaches a Consumer Protection Law Seminar as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland School of Law.  He has also taught at the University of Baltimore's graduate program in Legal and Ethical Studies at the Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts. 

Peter currently serves on the Maryland State Bar Association's Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Service, and also on the MSBA's Resolution of Fee Disputes Committee.  At the local level, Peter is the 2006-2007 Chair of Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Anne Arundel Bar Association.

Peter is a proud member of Civil Justice, Inc., of the Maryland Consumer Rights Coalition, and of the National Association of Consumer Advocates.
