Peter Holland

Peter Holland received his B.A. in Philosophy from Bard College, M.A. in Liberal Arts from St.  John’s College of Annapolis, and J.D. from University of Maryland School of Law, in 1992, from which he received the Public Service Award.  He has been in private practice in Annapolis since 1993, starting in a general litigation firm, and then opening his own law firm in 1997.  Mr. Holland currently represents Maryland consumers in claims arising out of a variety of consumer transactions, including:

  • auto dealer fraud
  • wrongful repossessions
  • debt collection defense
  • debt collection harassment
  • foreclosure rescue scams
  • mortgage fraud
  • predatory lending
  •  invasion of privacy   

Mr. Holland teaches a Consumer Protection Law Seminar as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland School of Law.  He has also taught at the University of Baltimore's graduate program in Legal and Ethical Studies at the Yale Gordon College of Liberal Arts. 

Mr. Holland is a past member of the Maryland State Bar Association's Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Service, and of the MSBA's Resolution of Fee Disputes Committee.  At the local level, Mr. Holland was the 2006-2007 Chair of Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Anne Arundel Bar Association. He is a member of Civil Justice, Inc., and of the National Association of Consumer Advocates.

 

Michael G. Morin, Of Counsel to the Holland Law Firm, P.C.

Mike served with the U. S. Army from 1968 – 1991 including tours in Vietnam, Italy, Germany, and Panama.  He served as a soldier and non-commissioned officer until 1977 when he was commissioned from Officer Candidate School.  From 1977 until his retirement in 1991, Mike served in various infantry and Special Forces assignments including tours with the 5th, 10th, and 11th Special Forces Groups.  Mike is a life member of both the 101st Airborne Division Association and the Special Forces Association. 

Mike received his undergraduate degree in political science and history from the University of the State of New York in 1982 while still in the service.  He attended the University of Baltimore School of Law after his retirement from the Army.  He graduated from law school and was admitted to the practice of law in 2000. 

Mike’s initial practice was predominately in criminal defense.  For four years he represented various banks and credit unions in consumer debt actions.  For the past four years Mike’s practice has been focused on representing consumers in civil actions involving debt collection, mortgage fraud, and foreclosure rescue fraud. 

Mike is admitted to practice law in all of Maryland’s state courts, in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, and in the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
